“But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 ESV
Review and Application:
The tempter will come and try to make you feel you have to prove yourself. He tried to get Jesus to prove himself by telling him to turn the stones into bread. God already declared Jesus to be the Son. (See Matthew 3:17) Instead of proving himself to Satan, he modeled this act of simply believing God at his every word and declaring it is the word to live by. If you believe in Jesus, you have been given the right to become a child of God. (see John 1:12) Believe his word, and live by his word.
