Review and Application:
Satan used God’s own scripture to put forth a test in an attempt to lure Jesus in proving he is the Son of God. Once again, God already declared Jesus to be the Son of God at his baptism. (See Matthew 3:17) Know that you don’t have to prove anything to the devil, or anyone else for that matter. Some people think you haven’t been saved if you don’t speak in tongues or something else. Salvation was never based on your gifts or talents, but on the finished work of Jesus. Don’t put the Lord your God to the test by trying to prove your salvation and sonship through a work or gift. Believe in Christ Jesus for Salvation. The works will follow.
