I had a short prayer on my heart today.
“God, fix my thoughts to do your will”
This came after the thought of wanting to follow him in every circumstance, but knowing my limitations, I need to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. I need my thoughts to be fixed and aligned with God’s will. My flesh is worthless in carrying out God’s will for my life. And my fleshly thoughts are what hinder me from doing his will. I need to be renewed in the Spirit and transformed in the way I think. (See Romans 12:2)
Evening thought: what did I live for today?
I asked this as it was a pretty typical work day. I didn’t ask this to get down on myself concerning my zeal, but to take a healthy honest assessment of my life choices today and consider what and/or who my focus is set on. And why. This is where prayer comes in and through praying and considering these questions perhaps God may use this time to further shape my thoughts and motives.
God fix my thoughts to do your will in every situation. Amen
