I have this in common with Jesus, I too love just sitting by a lake. Have you ever just pondered the why … why did such large crowds gather around Jesus? Jesus still attracts crowds of people. He didn’t mass market some revival event at the beach. He just went to sit there. My guess to the question, “why”. The verse begins, “that same day”. The chapter prior shows he just healed a demon possessed man who was blind and mute. In fact, there were a number of healings in the previous chapter. Some of these people were probably witnesses to these healings or heard about them. Jesus was showing evidence that he was the Christ, whom they’ve been taught about growing up and have been waiting for all these centuries. He was doing things a mere man alone cannot do. Immanuel, God with us.
