Jesus explains the Parable of the Weeds…

“Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.”

He answered, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭36‬-‭43‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Truths:

  • Jesus is the Sower of the good seed; Christians are the good seed. Ever consider yourself a good seed? Ever feel like you’re not a good seed? Through life we will go through seasons of repentance and growth. We’ll have good days and some days we’ll make poor choices and stumble; but that doesn’t change what Jesus calls you, Christian…
  • Jesus says that for the law-breakers, his angels will throw them into the fiery furnace where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Will the law breaker weep and gnash their teeth?

Please know this, if you’re not under grace you are under the law. If you are under grace, you are not under the law. If you are apart from Christ and under the law, unless you are perfect, you are a law-breaker. If this is you, learn about the gospel, repent and call on the name of Jesus and believe!

Romans 6 is a good read on this subject of law and grace.

Praise God for his mercy and grace and grow in Christ.

  1. Good thoughts,
I always thought the gnashing of teeth was something inflicted on the law breaker, but I think I may have read it wrong. Reading Romans 6.
