“And behold, a woman who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, for she said to herself, “If I only touch his garment, I will be made well.” Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well.”
Matthew 9:20-22 ESV
Truth: If you can believe? All things are possible for one who believes.’ ~ Jesus [Mark 9:23]
She had faith to reach out to Jesus believing that if she only touched his garment she’d be made well. Jesus says, “her faith has made you well”
A bit further down the chapter two blind men call out to Jesus wanting to be healed.
“When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.””
Matthew 9:28-29 ESV
Some Questions to Consider:
- Why is it that their faith made them well?
- If the woman didn’t have faith, would have she reached out?
- Who was her faith in?
- Jesus asked the men, “do you believe that I am able to do this”. Who was their faith in?
- Why were they so sure? Where did this faith come from?
- What does this say about Jesus, about God?
- What does this mean to you now?
