“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:25, 34 ESV
The best and most logical way to live is to live by what’s true. Jesus shares many truths through his word and this is one. Don’t be anxious about your life, especially with concern for your basic needs. And don’t be anxious about tomorrow. You can make plans, but it is the Lord who directs our steps (Proverbs 16:9). But to worry about any of these things is not inline with Christ centered thinking. So the next time I worry about a bill, or life in general, I’m no longer walking in faith but walking from a worldly perspective. God is my provider. Jesus was speaking truth that we may be free from these burdensome worries. This is easier said then done right? The only way this can actually be easy is if I’m perfectly surrendered to God – something I’m still growing in. Faith. I naturally want to have control over my circumstances, yet I’m truly called to leave it to the one who is perfect, sovereign, and creator of all things…and also happens to love me.
I believe I should do what I’m supposed to do with my faith in the Lord knowing that he will provide for me according to his will – which is perfect. And he always has…hasn’t he? 😁
God has blessed you.
Amen,
Goes against our culture, but is true.
Need to listen to God’s way.
